My name is Yana. The main part of my volunteer work today is the “Window to the World” project (adapted computer courses for the elderly). I also try to participate in various Volunteer Community activities. Whenever I am asked why I do this, my answer is always the same: “When there are people who need help, there am I who have time to give it.” My life is full of emotions and wonderful events, so why not bring happy minutes to someone else’s life if I have the will and the opportunity?

In my childhood, my mother said that life works on the effect of a boomerang: what you give, you receive in return. How many of you do at least 3 good things every day? I distinctly remember my first volunteer action, with what fear and excitement I was overflowed. This was a turning point in my life. But when I saw sparkles of happiness in the eyes of the children, just because we arrived, that was the moment of relief for me. They were children diagnosed with cerebral palsy. That day I understood 3 things. First: by bringing someone joy, you get satisfaction and peace, then the inspiring feeling that you helped someone. Second: by your good deed, you give motivation to other people to do good deeds. And the third thing is that my mother is always right. I am a volunteer. I bring help and good. And what about you?

I like helping people, especially working with children with disabilities from the “Yadid” club. They are no longer children, although sometimes it seems to me that this is not so. They are even more open. I want to help everyone who needs my help. With the advent of volunteering in my life, I realized that I had made many friends. Among them are those whom I help, and those with whom I do it.

I have grown up in the Dnepr Jewish Community. I have always thought highly of my madrichims and of people who do good deeds. I am not a child anymore, and I want to give love and care in return, to those who need it. I like to help others, especially children. I am crazy about children.

My name is Polina. I am a pediatric orthopedist. I am eager to help those in need. It matters a lot to me. We live in a country where there are many unsolved problems but I believe that if each of us becomes a little bit kinder, we will be able live a full life, to enjoy our lives, to cherish our wonderful people and the country.
